Ok, here comes another one. COA does not state production completion date, but "date of invoice" instead.

    Peter,

Thanks for the info. I've added your car as the Karmann coupe with the earliest known production date.

Here is my COA for a very early 911L.

Porsche Cars Australia have confirmed build date was 1967 not 1964 as in COA!

Any information if it was used as a show car would be appreciated....

Interesting. According to your COA, it was build in June '67, which appears to be extremely early. My car (albeit an S) was a demonstrator or "show car" as you mention, and is VIN 11800002, built July 21, 1967 - exactly one month later.

Anyone else have other 68 L VINs that could confirm?

I would highly recommend getting a Kardex for your car, as it would show you if it was a demonstrator, and where it went.

it would be interesting to see which was the last US spec SWT with a back seat. IIRC Jan 1, 1968 was the cut off for that. What VIN is the last SWT with a back seat... and is this change noted on the Kardex or COA

I believe Targa 11880002 is the earliest US Spec targa. I have 11880004, delivered new to Fresno, CA.
