    Dumb question...was this gauge specific to 912s or interchangeable between both 912s and 911s of the time?

    Once the thermocouple is severed, which is true in most cases, these will fail to the earlier point - however the standard restoration for these today is a digital to analog conversion, along with all the normal screen printing and ring / glass work - so this can be made to function if someone wants it in their car.

    I don't know the truth on the option set question of 912, 911 or both - i have most commonly seen them in 912s, '66 specifically as a fourth gauge (left). Hazarding a guess, I imagine if you wanted it on your 911, it would be a clock alternative (right) as the left gauge had fuel in '67.
