I've never seen anything like them either but am not ready to call them "fakes".

Where is the Porsche emblem located? On one of the side panels?

    They're awfully cool regardless!

Maybe period original but not Factory made or ordered.
    Just my imo, of course.

I have all Christophorus 63-73 as well as over +400 period literature items.
Never saw these types in any period print.

Looks a little bit homemade and overdone.
The hood crest is awkward. The diagonal Porsche sides are awkward.

My imo its period original (late 70ies) but opposite the well documented Porsche Dealer sign, these lanterns are made by private builder. Maybe for his coffee corner within a dealers shop.

Do we have any visual proof they existed? So far cant find any.
Btw Porsche letters in the sixties are often square. Those here are rounded.

I bought the Wyer Gulf-Porsche Racing sign from Martijn and am very happy with it. While I'm not an expert in artifact authentication I find it hard to believe anyone would have fabricated such a sign including engraving on the case with the Gulf logo and R (registered trademark) unless it was Gulf Oil and or Porsche back in the day.

A quick look at the internal wiring and electrical components would perhaps help determine authenticity...
