    CDI 3 pin Box options

I've got a 911 E, 1970, with a permatune unit installed. it works very well. But I dont like the look I'd like to have a unit which is closer to the original Bosch 3 pin CDI Box. Would you recomend a refurbished or a an up grade unit from Parts klassisk? Is there any other options?

Up grade from Parts Klassic,,,,you may need to get your tach updated however.

That particular unit has a lot of gizmos in it too.

    Fully programmable ignition advance curve.
Hard RPM limiter with adjustable ignition cut schemes
Soft RPM limiter with adjustable ignition retard
    Launch RPM limiter
    Double spark at all RPMs
    Max RPM tell tale
    Shift Light output
    Clutch pedal input
    Tacho calibration
    Upgradeable through firmware updates

The launch RPM limiter would be good for drag racing. Stutter box, anyone?

Thanks for all input! I think I will go for a refurbished CDI box from Parts klassik. Since I don´t have a core one to start with they´ll charge some extra for that, it won´t be cheap but I guess it will be worth it (at least for the look).
I´ve been in contact with Sarah at Partsklassik and she told me that their up graded CDI box are designed to work with stock Porsche tach.

Any return of experience from people using the PartsKlassik retrofit/upgraded box?
Did you notice any performance improvement or is it simply more reliable on the long run because of its modern technology (and also offer a built-in RPM limit).
Put it differently would someone with an OEM CDI box that is working perfectly fine consider to upgrade or not?

I would say leave well enough alone.
