    Help with Body Plug Info

Can anyone confirm the existence of and or part number for a rubber body blanking plug for a standard 911 60mm heater hose?

I recall them being available but have purchased nearly every plug that Porsche has which might be it and no luck so far; other than a nice pile of a couple hundred $$ in body plugs.

Any leads appreciated; I'm doing a heater delete and want things done correctly.

    Thanks,

MCMaster Carr sells aluminum caps in various diameters....there's one that perfect. slipped right over the flange at the rear body heater valve location.

That will be my fall back but I'm really interested in an OE rubber / plastic cap.

Haven't measured, but might be close to the plug in the smugglers box.

There should be a part number shown in the smugglers box parts manual section. It has a plug and a rubber gasket that goes under the plug. IIRC, I have seen it shown in the part catalog. GLWSearch.

Mark I too have seen them in cars before but for the life of me I've ordered all the plugs Porsche still shows for all the long hoods on this part of the car and can't come up with one.

If anyone has more info I'd be very grateful, thanks.

I'm pretty familiar with both SWB and LWB parts books and do not recall ever seeing a 60mm blanking cap, The smugglers rubber cap is 80mm, and non-gas heater SWB cars had a stitched vinyl "boot" blocking the metal horn from the smuggler's box up in front of the instruments. The racers just used what they could find as was the case with the racing department. That's why I went with the nice piece at McMaster. It might as well be factory...especially with black paint!

Mark I think I'll try what you're suggesting.

If by any chance you know the part number from McMaster can you Pm me; I'm putting an order together this week.

    Thanks Robert
