Education needed: MFI Air box oil return lines connections

Hi guys, I have removed this morning the airbox filter on 1973S MFI engine and found that the smaller exit at the "T"-shaped connection was not leading to anything ... where should it go?

Thanks a lot for your help I'm pretty sure the info is available somewhere but couldn't find it.

P.S. stole picture on an old thread from greggearhead ... didn't have camera with me

It heads over to and in frt of left shock tower, between tower and firewall and then down to a tube near the shifter tube and gas line area. The tube then heads frt to your charcoal canister near left battery if still have one.

Thanks a lot! This must be for US delivery only, since the canister was never installed in the RoW cars like mine's ... so maybe it is indeed not connected anywhere ...

I think your suspicion is correct; it doesn't connect to anything on Euro cars. As you probably know, the smaller nipple connects to the drain pipe near the firewall end via a length of hose.

Exactly, the small one on the bottom was correctly in place and doing its job, although the inside of the airbox was much cleaner than expected ... I passed a white cloth and sooth was barely visible ...

There are 2 hoses coming from the charcoal canister, one goes to the fan housing and the other goes to your fitting. I would think if left open you would get some oil dripping off it as it is connected to your oil tank breather also.

Euro cars came with the small evaporative nipple pluged with a heavy rubber plug.

Yup, I just checked my car, IT, and the T is plugged with the thick rubber on the small end. The large end has the oil breather hose and is where the spark suppressor resides if I remember correctly.
