    Armrest question

Has anyone put a RHD armrest on a LHD for convenience for opening door and why were our cars done this way?

Gets in the way of elbows whilst properly driving a Porsche. Handle on the passenger side for hanging-on.

Porsche seems to disagree as they added a driver side handle in 1974 and never looked back.
