    73 front hood seal detail?

This is a test fit of new Porsche brand seal. The transition at the seam between the 2 profiles is my question. See photoName: image.jpg

Your bottom seal has to be in the flange all the way across.

Only way to get the end lip of seal in the rounded metal edge as is shown on your would be the lift the metal as I have tried some force to fit it in and does not go.......assume new is slightly larger edge than original .

Use dishwashing liquid and a spudger. Those nylon plastic trim tools. The rubber should squeeze under the lip. You may have to cut the end just a bit to adjust the length. Do this after you've seated the seal so you don't go too short.Push at the bead.
You may have to lift the lip where it has been bent down to much. Use a thicker spudger so you don't lift the paint.
