Jack for longer road trip pol:

The new season is on the way and the road trip to SPA, Le Mans Classic are getting closer. What kind of jack do the forum bring for road trips?

I carry #3 plus jack stands and a slide in adaptor for the Jack point. Been used a number of times, and not always on my car.

me too....and mine has been shared with many as well, some guys I'm still friends with

found one that's around 30lbs, fits in a canvas tool bag from the big box stores, sits nicely behind the camber bar in the fronk, wrapped in a big towel or small packing blanket and it gives you something to lay on while determining your (at the time) buddy's tranny just blew up, or giving that clearance to whack the starter motor a little harder...or Karl's fuel pump.....or Steven's punctured tire....or Dave's punctured tire.

haven't yet needed it on one of my cars, lol.

I like the 944 aluminum scissors jack, nice and light.

and they are much less likely to kill you unlike the "widow-maker" Bilstein post jacks

bring a thick piece of plywood along to put under the jack on soft surfaces

Number 3 - I looked at my bilstein jack and thought I trust you about as far as I can throw you!

Mine will lift up to 1400kgs so its fine for an early 911. I also carry one of the pads I can stick into the jack spur.

Number 1, some wood blocks for wheel chocks and for soft ground and depend on the kindness of others.

Remember the 1 man welcoming committee in Lancaster while we were waiting for parts ... Hey Porsche bitches!

I just purchased the 944 jack, and am happy with it. Light, and only $40. I made a wooden block for the top, although I've heard a hockey puck is the best option.
