FS: Porsche Indy Car engine valve cover, from Weissach

From Weissach, mounted on a wood base by the elves at Porsche, one of one, in my hands since 1990. $1700/OBO, plus shipping and insurance from 74137.

Thanks. I acquired it in March of 1990, when Dr. Karl Heinze Stehle came to the US to give a talk. At the time, he was the Chief of Powertrain Development for Porsche AG, at Weissach. It flew over in his luggage...

Smart guy. He had a lengthy career at Porsche and holds a number of patents, primarily related to transmissions and their control.

I've been talking to some people that are in the business of selling all sorts of automobilia. As much as I think this is a "Porsche" item that would appeal to Porsche nuts, I'm being told that it might appeal more to a guy that collects Indy memorabilia. I'm still kicking that idea around, but if I come around to that line of thinking, this may get shipped off to one of the vintage Indy 500 memorabilia vendors.

If anybody here has an interest in it, let me know before too long. Frankly, I'd rather it go to a Porsche guy.
