    Redoing basketweave on dash... help.

I'm changing my black basketweave on my 71 to tan.

    1. How do you remove the chrome trim around the heater controls? For this part of the dash, I'm got doing to remove the aluminum plate... just the metal plate that the vinyl is on.

    2. also going to install an original Blaupunkt Frankfurt... whats the best way to not have to have the split seam between the heater controls and the radio? Would like to have a continuous basketweave....Without the heater control chrome trim coming being removeable, it looks like it'll be difficult.

    Thanks!

Sorry, but I have to think the best way to do it is to remove the controls. Disconnect the cables from the control box, unbolt the controls and remove the unit. Not a fun job, but can be done.

You might be able to unbolt the controls and pull them away from the dash just far enough to to do it with out disconnecting the cables, but not sure.

    Mark..
