Question '72S Battery's physical size and related hardware Q?

I want to put an AGM battery in my car. I would go for genuine, but I loathe liquid acid batteries.

I did a search on here and all I could come up with is a group 22 size battery some one was using. Will this fit in the box like factory? Or do I need to just take some measurements and head off to the battery store?

Hardware question: So the nut that the battery hold down strap is threaded into a captive nut, right? The driver's side is broken loose. Looks like there is no way to access it???

The Sonnenschein A512/40A is the correct size

Here's a thread with some others suggestions

Use the Sonnenschein with a battery maintainer, gel types don't take well to a total discharge. Mine have lasted as long as 9 years. The Sonnenschein fits perfectly with no creative adapting needed. as to the stripped out thread, fix these all the time. Here are some pictures doing the same repair for a bumper bracket hole. Hole was totally stripped out and someone had installed a 7/16ths bolt. I use a flanged 8 mm nut, grind down the corners, and weld it in the hole. The flange keeps it from dropping thru.
