Installing windshield trim with glass installed

I had a windshield cracked and new glass installed with new rubber seal for the 1970 911T.
I didn't have the alloy trim, but now have it. I've tried to slip it in the grooves of the rubber seal, no luck.
Is there a special trick or tool I can use to install the alloy/chrome trim without removing the glass?

    Thanks,
    Scott

I don't think it is possible. It's hard enough to get it in properly with the windshield out!

Oh, geez. I don't know, Scott. We've installed a bunch of windshields over the last couple years and I can't imagine installing the trim afterwards. I might be wrong, and hope I am, but deosn't seem likely to me.

It's not gonna happen Scott, you'll just end up bending the trim which is the last thing that you wanna do. Removing the glass is not a big deal at all, you just need a little patience.

There was a thread on pelican where a guy was able to make a hook tool that lifted the rubber around the trim strip, he's the only guy that I've seen get the trim on after the glass is installed....I never had any luck doing it.

Pulling a front window out and re-installing it is really easy with the rope method and two people. I have experienced numerous instances where when re-installing the window I get it in, but the trim popped out in a few places. Generally, it is easier to just pop the window out and adjust the trim.

You are trying to save an hour by spending 2 hours and destroying the trim.
Pull the windshield as said above.....

I'll pull the glass out. With 7 of 7 stating so...Thanks.

Since the rubber is new you won't even need to change it. Just start at the top with plastic spatulas or putty knives and start working the rubber back under the edge of the body, will be hard to get started but once going it goes pretty quick. Once you have the top lip done you can gently push glass out.
