    Ignition swb Poll

How many swb 65-68 owners still use the original kettering setup and actually drive the car more than from the transporter to the car show field?

Note: I have the original kettering system on my car and have not ever had problem with fueled plugs or anything else than a bit of popping from the exhaust when cold. And the car start easily when cold.

I always drive my car until hot, and a lot on the highway 110-130 km/h and a several long trips 500 km + every year.

how much more benefit with CDI upgrade?

Lars, back in the old days when we heard the advice from Up-Fixen of "always keep the revs above 4000 RPM" we were using leaded gasoline without oxygenation additives. Plugs still foul from our fat mixtures, but I have used all three-- Bosch CDI, MSD and Kettering. No fouling with ANY setup, and I have run around with Kettering and then pulled the plugs, they are still black from the mixture, but the car still easily starts.

When I got my '65 back in 1997 it had an old Permatune. It still does.
