    oil filler neck installation

    Hi Guys,

    hope someone could help me.

I'm installing a new oil tank to my -67 911. When installing the filler neck to the tank I ran into the following problem; I am not sure if the neck should be installed all the way up to the rounding or if it is installed correctly as on the photo. The problem is that it does not seem to be possible to push the neck all the way to the round part.

My concern is that my oil dip stick shows an incorrect oil level.

I am happy for all help!

Were those parts on your original tank? Seems to me there was a short piece of hose connecting the tank and filler neck. Do you still have the old tank? is the neck of the new tank the same as the old?

thanks for the answers, I have the hose, just left it out to show the distance to the round "buldge"

Can anyone say if the pictured distance seems to be correct?

Ed - unfortunately I cannot use my old tank as a example.

Marek - have you made the filter attachment or the tank? :-)

    Thanks,
    Johan
