Does rain damage an early 911?

Earlier I asked if washing an early 911 did damage.
A lot of members responded passionately that a 911
was very robust and meant to stand up to water. But
should you drive a very expensive rust prone vehicle
in the rain if you have a choice? Please give me the rat-
ational answer rather than the macho- emotional one.

Rain leads to rust (duh). Why tempt fate? Spring is here so you'll have plenty of time to drive. Let's see some pics of your '70 T!

The rational answer is, if you don't feel comfortable driving your car in the rain don't. Its all about personal preference.
Salt is what really rusts these cars, water dries, unless the water sits in crooks and crannies. Most of the rusty cars that appear on these pages, have sat for years with water sitting in them, exposed to the elements. I doubt anyone on these pages does that.
The bigger danger of driving in the rain, is having someone slide in to you in their SUV.

    +1 for this:

and: make sure your wiperunit is working 100% for the case of getting into the rain...

If the front pan and rear shelf areas could enable some degree of access, the benefit would be in forcing air into the areas. The type of cfm from a blower is going to evaporate liquid over time.

Water finding it's way into a rocker area....same issue.

I hear water devalues the tool kit.
