    Question Seat belts

So I've been through the "Show us your Seat" thread twice looking for a picture of seat belt fitment.. Instead of polluting that thread with technical questions, I'll post it here.

What is correct for my 72S Targa? Brackets that bolt on the car (where the seats bolt down) or on the slider brackets? When I found my car, mine were MIA, as was the entire interior.

I've since replaced the seats, but the slides still don't have any provision for belts. Soooo...

I guess I need some of these and a lot of other parts..? http://www.stoddard.com/96452106500.html and a lot of other parts...

So are you asking where the receivers bolt down? I have a few pics of my receivers but not where they bolt down (the car is not accessible, it's in storage). The receivers slide through the seats but it's hard to describe. Maybe somebody else has a better photo. If you don't already have the receivers, Unfortunately they are exclusive to the 1972 model. Theyre just like the 73's only they are smooth in texture and have a different screw on the back. and they're not easy to come by.

I'd be leery of trusting aged seat belts. Nobody seems to know how long seatbelts in cars can be trusted - I asked NHTSA and IIHS - nada.

But in general aviation, they get replaced every 10 years IIRC.

Ah yes, thank you. Now I guess I have to track down all the parts. Anyone know of a parts list, with all the correct washer and other hardware?

How far being one year off will this one be? ---> http://www.stoddard.com/92880312609.html

I thought of getting this temporarily until I do the restoration...? http://www.lakewell.com/en/porsche/9...sche-911-65-93

partsklassik has kits too. More modern buckles etc. I spent about $500 buying belt material from stretch and having them restored by snakoyl, just to see everything original. I think updating to the newer belts is cheaper and safer though.

Hmmm, I think these could be a good choice.

The "Fly in the ointment" with all of these seat belt issues usually comes from having the original seats replaced with something else. When that happens, the seat belts and the mounting bits go with the old seats. The picture is of the original bracket that is attached to the original seats. With out those you have no way to attach seat belts to your "LWB" car.

Yet another fly in the ointment Paul. My recievers bolted right in to the tunnel...in front of the coupler. I believe these to be original, but can't swear to it. Scopions - Blackout for your pic. I used to have that shirt!Name: image.jpg
