Can anyone help with Heater cable size

Needed to install new nylon covered single core wire that operates the heater flaps on a 65 911 and wonder if anyone would know the exact gauge (mm) of wire. Hard to find a local supplier, but seems that fishing stores have some sizes !!!. Its seems that the length is around 1780mm.
    Thanks for your assistance

seeking clarification for my own project...

first, what is meant by "nylon covered wire?"

as i understand it, the SWB heater boxes are operated by a wire that has a plastic sheath with metal fittings on each end. the sheath runs from the heater box to the conduit that enters the linkage tunnel.

so, the 2nd question is "does anyone have a source for the plastic sheath with the metal fittings?"

finally, i am slo interested to know the exact gauge of the internal wire that operates the heater boxes. i think one supplier wants over $100 US for what appears to be a pretty low-tech item. the heater appears to operate in tension, rather than compression, so the wire simply has to be strong enough to engage the springs that operate the heater box.

I just came back from the garage, where i measured the wire that operates the heater boxes (removed from my car). The micrometer showed 1.21mm in thickness, which places the wire between 16 and 17 gauge (using the American wire gauge system).

Given this information, is there any real problem in simply using simple 16- or 17-gauge wire (likely found in any hardware or farm supply store) as replacement? ($100 for a length of simple wire just sounds crazy to me, but ignorance is not a reliable basis for analysis.)
