Thread: Sunroof adjustment questions

    Sunroof adjustment questions

Can't get the back of the roof to lift enough to be aligned with the roof line. It sits 3mm lower

Here is a picture of the wedge, doesn't seem to be lifting the back of the roof high enough

I guess I can make my own wedge to lift the back an additional 3 mm but what am I missing? Why can't I get it correct with factory parts?

    Thanks
    Rafik

The tram fixed to the end of the cable has to move the lift arm attached to that tram, over center to lift the rear of the roof up into position on both sides in sync. What you show in your picture is the stop for the tram. There is no ramp to lift the rear of the roof. Not a job for the faint of heart as premature lifting of the rear of the roof will scratch the sliding roof section. Bad or skipped cable adjustment or too much tension on the sliding section can cause premature lifting. This repair needs to start from the beginning by a pro, DIY'ers need to proceed with caution and care, take it slow. G.Led

What year mechanism is this? I do not recognize that black "ramp" part. The tram/lever mechanism goes all the way to a vertical orientation for the pivoting lever. Whatever that black piece is appears to be stopping the motion...

I can’t believe it’s 4 years and no one has updated sunroof fitment.
My rear sections does not lift?
Seems from what I have read the adjustment is with the pivot attachment of the roof itself .
Does the roof need to come back out to get at these.....don’t see how this can be done with roof in place.
Or do the attachments to the roof need to be unattached to see the adjustment mechanism ?

Happy to go at it but wanted to see if others have so key points.
I will get this fitted properly , no excuses
    Thanks for assistance
