    Seat Belt Anchor Points 1970

My '70S is fitted with '72 seats that have the seat belt anchor points built into the seats. My car also came with the original seats but I do not know how the receiver anchors are attached. Are they attached to the seats or the floor?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

The 72 seats use the exact same brackets as the 70. They can be transferred between seats.

PS: The 72 does use different receivers and belts than the 70, though.

Receivers on my 70S and 73S are mounted to the seat rails...

So I think (or was told) that the seats are original to my '70 (and look like '70 seats) but would earlier seats have different receiver mounts?

69 and 70 share the same seats. 68 seats look much like 69/70 seats but are not the same and do not have any provision for seat belts. A picture of you seats would go a long way to identifying your seats. I'll post a couple of pictures of the differences in a few minutes.
Note: a 68 seat will not fit properly in a 69 or later car.

    Regards

    Jim

68 seat hinge on the right and a 69/70 seat hinge on the left.
Note the seat back release in the middle of the hinge on the 69. The 68 hinge does not have that and also has 3 screws to attach the seat back. The 69 only has 2 screws.

    Regards

    Jim
