Early 911 on display in China

Saw this on my way into Pudong Airport in Shanghai. The car looked real, but it's gotta be some kind of model, right? Regardless, it was definitely eye-catching. It's interesting to see how companies do brand building in new markets. Tying the new models to the legendary history of the 911 will go over well here.

Nice catch. You have the Shangai Airport bullet train in the background. 250mph or so, maglev.

I have to come clean; my drive-by photo was a blurry piece of junk, so I found a better one on the interwebs.

There are 4 Porsche dealers in Shanghai. For about 15 million people. I've visited the Pudong and Nanjing road ones on previous trips. Basically, take our prices in North America and multiply by 2 and that is your out the door price.

Good luck getting a license plate though. Waiting list for Shanghai city plates, which are essential if you want to use the expressways.
