    Hollow vs solid torsion bars: pros & cons?

    What are pros and cons to hollow vs solid torsion bars?

    Hollow are lighter for a given spring rate. If you are limited by available space/packaging then the solid will be a little stiffer than the hollow. Hollow has more stress in the material than solid for a given spring rate but the margin of safety for a Porsche application should be fine either way.

    Besides lighter weight you'll get a better response. Kind of like twisting a empty garden hose vs one charged with water. I have them in my S and had them in my 930 when I owned it.
