Thread: 911S Resurrection Not Restoration

attached video of a porsche colonocopy. We start with the heating tubes! I have found a washer or what I think is one. I was able to verify that it was loose but I could not remove it. That washer comes from outside and got into the hole or at some point inside could it have come loose? the video is not very interesting but you can see a little like this place.

I do not know if I'm explaining myself well.
The place where I introduced the camera:

Hi, I hope someone finds the video interesting. If any "expert" or someone who knows the subject of aerodynamics wants to give me an explanation of the images, I would appreciate it.
My question is related to high speeds, the development of the hood would help with the problem of the buoyancy of the front axle?

try to be true to reality and I think it is. I put a control vehicle to see the aerodynamics without the headlights and then I put the 3d development of mine so that you could see the difference. I think that anyone who knows the subject will also know how to read the values shown in the image margins. If I remember correctly, it was taken at 52m / S, which is equivalent to a speed of 187 Kmh! I need to do the modeling with the pieces of the sides and the front spoiler. Maybe today I will, although I don't think I will make a video of it! Salds!
*what do you mean by persistence? It may be clear with it.
if the insistence goes because I keep publishing I can stop doing it! Get on with the job and show it by reducing my posts and showing the end result.
the application used has been autodesk flow Design I think it is the most faithful tool to reality with which you can work and easy to get and it is from the same distribution of the autocad manufacturers.

You are persistent, and that is a good thing with your car.
I think however that you are going in many directions at a time and lose sight of the main objective: get the car restored.

These details that you dwell on, like welding lines on the bumpers, putty color (it is bondo, btw), wiring details, and possible history are interesting, but they are preventing you from going forward.

Get the paint off, prime, find a body shop. That should be all there is to it. And when you can't do that, rebuild the pedal cluster, the seat rails, clean the wiring harness, prepare any part and then put them aside as ready to put in the car when it is back.

That is the way I see things in my workshop, and every day/week, I can say that my car is closer to being done.

things go slow but they go! It is true that the pedals is something I have wanted to do for a long time but I cannot remove the pin to disassemble the set. I plan to do an electrolysis! The rest of the pieces are "packed" with their end date (engine start, stabilizer bar, carpet, windows, parasols .......).
Assemble the chair because I want to tidy up the garage before getting into the car again! I need the space that the two armchairs occupy and it does not seem like a bad place to store them separately, they offer me a comfortable rest inside the vehicle! Regarding stopping at "stupid" is due to the fact that I want everything to be clear to me before "covering it up". It is the only porsche that I have looked at and while I do things I have doubts... I do not stop at them, I show them, I ask, and they are written down for each time I reread the thread remembering each doubt and knowing in what I am resolved For example, without many of these steps I would not have identified the holes in the alleged bars, the holes in the front bumper to improve the grip, that the car suffered a serious accident, among many other things.
For now I have proposed to finish the interior of the vehicle to be able to leave the stools stored inside (the front and rear). Today I was going to ask what method is effective to clean the roof covering (I will use the same if its condition allows me)
I also have in mind to put the dashboard since the area is already ready to receive it and I do not want this more time out of his way. With that, I think I will have made quite a lot of progress from my point of view, but it is true that many times I disperse. That is due to a lack of material. If it were up to me, the floors would have been finished two years ago but it is the time and the priority that I gave when buying the material. As my father says, find yourself a job. With an extremely loose budget you can do things, but not things ... Although that, from the point of view from which you look! I'll try to show more focused things! Regards

should I put putty? Or I improve the question. Was it putty in the beginning or were the welds seen when it was painted yellow? I did not find tin lead in this piece is something already commented. Regards

Putyy is not my thing. But with time I got something decent. I have several pores that I hope to finish with another layer of putty in them. Any advice for applying putties?

I have to say that I liked the welds and my intention was to leave them ... But taking into account that the other bumper I do not intend to strip it I found that problem. Perhaps over time I will be encouraged to strip them both and leave them with the welds seen. For now, this.

I have sanded with water, I know it should not be but try not to overdo it with something and dry little by little. I am waiting to buy an orbital sandpaper. I hope to get a better job with her. For now the pieces are prepared with 120 by hand.

I'm interested in rolling down the pilot's window. I've searched the forum and I can't find anything apart from the wiring diagram (which I can't understand / orient the switch). My question is, with a battery, can I lower the window by using tweezers? I have the disassembled switch and three loose wires. I could put the clamps on them but I don't know if it would be dangerous for the installation.

What grease is recommended to grease the sunroof rails? I have put the battery in and I have managed to open and close it. In the first one, it cost him, then not so much and although it closed and opened completely I would like to grease it. He followed the path of the windows. At some point unplug the cables without noting their position. I pulled the switch and went to find my father. The switches are from BMW? My father tells me that maybe although he is surprised since he had taken them from the previous SC that he bought in an accident. I have verified that the switch works with a "tester" but I cannot lower the window. I'm going to check the fuse since maybe with so much testing it may have screwed up. I'm going to investigate how the pins of this switch are (There are 4)
the lights in the painting are bright as I remembered them, no light bulbs are burned out. I was amused to put the ignition on and see how the oil pressure clock was placed in a position. There is no oil, there is no motor, but I understand that the needle, when you touch the ignition, goes to 0.
oh, a detail that is important to me, I learned to listen to a porsche off. Keep making noise if you know how to listen!

reading the ultimate S / T made me curious to measure the plates. I calibrated it with two touches of the "clutch" but despite taking the measurements I don't know if they are being taken correctly. The process that I carry out is one of approach and then I position with the "clutch", when I feel resistance I make two "clicks" and here are the photos.
the first 3 correspond to the lips of the back piece

like i said i have no idea to use these tools in a way that gives me realistic results. Where should I position it? How can ceiling panels be measured and in what position? Regards!Name: IMG_20200909_150423.jpg

looking at the last photo you can see that the result is "bad", I see that it supports the tool badly
