?? missing front tank support - any on early 9 series ?

    Dear all,

over at the 912bbs we are discussing an issue concerning the front tank support.
It had been noticed over the years, that in SoCal at least four or five 912´s are missing the front tank support and it seems as there had never been one in these cars.

    So our question is:
is this only a 912 defect? did some 901´s also do have missing front tank support?

    Attached some pics as example.

Now that is weird!! doesn't even have the captive nut for the front tank hold down, and the reinforcement doubler for the front A-arm attachment is also missing. And there are others!!! You guys need to start your own registry.

Yes, they are low budget jobs.
Keep in mind not that many years ago, 912s and even 911s were barely worth repairing at all.
Most of the 912 owners didn't even want to repair them....Ask Jim.....
I always put both pieces in 911s when I did them but not exactly what we would call concourse now days....
Customers just wouldn't pay to do a very nice, cosmetic type job. They just wanted structural soundness.
I have seen quite a few with some questionable (home made/overlap/on top etc) repairs.
