I'm in Austin. I think I have a metal one. Is there a date code?

Pretty sure the "911T" had plastic box and snorkel, "E" and "S" were metal, can anyone confirm this?

It's all steel. The part number on the air cleaner matches the "bildtafel" in the parts book, for 8/70. Sadly there is a small dent, I can send you more pics.

Give me a shout, can't find your email.

I had a 52K mile 71E I bought from the original owner and it was metal (I had it in and out so many times I rember clearly). My memory of plastic was for 72 and 73 (and maybe it's 73 only). Can't remember what was on my 72, but I've had 4 73S's and they all had plastic.

EDIT: I just cracked open a 72/73 parts book and they are specific that w/ a date of 1/73 that the air cleaner says "plastic", and that's for the 911T w/ carbs (euro).

That's my current .02, love to hear more about when plastic actually started!
