WTB: 911E Engine or Case (1971)

    Hi there

I recently purchased the world's most horrible 911E. Seriously!

In 1971, my car started life in California as a glamorous light yellow (6262), black leatherette, 2.2L green engine coupe.

In 1987, the previous owner shipped the car to Australia. He then spent $100K (I have the receipts!) chopping the roof off, removing the original panels, removing the original interior, removing the original engine, removing the original wheels and then installing a horrific 959 body kit, fully worked 3.0L engine, 930 turbo interior and 10inch wide rear wheels! All the original parts were given to the bloke that built the 959 monster. The previous owner then spent many years enjoying his hair blowing with gay abandon in his new convertible.

I have fortunately/unfortunately inherited this project and am now sourcing many of the original parts to suit my car.

Over the past four months, I have slowly sourced body parts (including the roof!), most of the black leatherette interior and original Fuchs.

I AM STRUGGLING TO FIND A 1971 911E ENGINE! I am looking for a 71 'E' engine in any condition. I am keen to rebuild the engine myself anyway, so some cruddy old engine sitting in the back of your shed would be perfect! If not engines are available, I am keen for a case as the starting point.

ANY HELP FROM THE FANTASTIC MEMBERS OF THIS FORUM WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

I look forward to your responses.

p.s. I am located in Sydney, Australia and will certainly pay all shipping costs etc involved to get the engine from wherever you are located to Sydney.
