Looks like we have some work to do if we expect to reach that 2 degree mark by 2020!

    I love this line:

"But when that pollution was cleared away, around the 1970s, a sharper warming trend began."

Maybe we need to pollute more to fight global warming!

that's true - particulates in the air will reduce warming effects, in general

to really counter GHG effects, you will need a nuclear winter tho

Funny how you did not mention that you jumped into that thread and then made a known to be total false statement.

What does chasing someone to a different board and then making a false personal attack say about you Eric?

I continue to believe that sort of personally directed - going so far as resorting to making stuff up - attack reflects poorly on people that make it as well as being the antithesis of what this forum wants to be known for.

Exactly as the models forecast, rise in CO2 and other forces will continue to result in warming.

BTW - you are engaged in motivated reasoning again which is a psychological crutch used by those who are incapable of dealing with reality for what it is.

" motivated reasoning, where instead of evidence being evaluated critically, it is deliberately interpreted in such a way as to reaffirm a pre-existing belief, demanding impossibly stringent examination of unwelcome evidence while accepting uncritically even the flimsiest information that suits one's needs.

...A series of investigations published last year by Prof Stephan Lewandowsky and his colleagues – including one with the fantastic title, Nasa Faked the Moon Landing – Therefore, (Climate) Science Is a Hoax: An Anatomy of the Motivated Rejection of Science – found that while subjects subscribing to conspiracist thought tended to reject all scientific propositions they encountered, those with strong traits of conservatism or pronounced free-market world views only tended to reject scientific findings with regulatory implications....

Inadvertently funny - someone who has never posted actual science but denies the science makes accusation of others of "living in your own private Idaho".
