There are probably more 0 mile or close to 0 mile beetles out there than buyers. I've been told when they announced that 1979 was going to be the last year of the imported beetle that collectors bought a ton of them just to park in their collection. The same thing happened in 2003 when the Ultimas crossed the line.

I remember the 'Verts being the collector's items

    This one 's a '74 --- + a coupe . . . + a flat 'shield = non-super . . .

    . . . and not sure about the Euro-spec cars, but the US ones --- w/smog pumps + AC . . . = utterly gutless

Definitely a weird car you got there. Looks very Super to me. Notice the front hood looks smushed in, flat on the bottom and how the apron on the front tucks under? The thing that is weird to me is that I've never seen a Super Beetle without the vents in the front apron.

Is that an all original car or restored? If I had to put money on it, I'd say it's a super with a replaced front apron. The windshield kinda looks curved to me as well but that may be the angle.

Here's a couple good Lit. photos from '74

I just saw the article on this car on yahoo news. Very interesting that the man only drove it to church and back in his letter years when he couldn't walk anymore. I still question some of the details though.
