FS: "V" Code Blaupunkt New Yorker Radio '64, '65, '66

The only radio better than this one would be NOS. This radio had been completely gone through by the radio doctor in St. Augustine, FL and the inside workings are like new and performs flawlessly. This radio has all the original knobs and even still has it's original painted inside right knob with the blue, red, green settings. As you know this was the high end of the radios available back then and had the auto signal seeking feature. Price is $750 and includes insured shipping in the USA.

"V" code is only 1964/65 not for '66

V code for 1964/1965. Does this means the building year of the model year? I have a building year 1965 modelyear 1966 car. Doubting if the Series V or series W is correct for my car.
    Thanks!

    A blaupunkt radio with a V code have a year of manufacture - 1964/65
So I believe you need a W code radio

Just for all you smart as**s out there. There were no W series New Yorker's there was an X series but late in '66,"V" codes covered '64 - '66. These were very expensive radios at the time and probably didn't sell a lot of them so this model lasted for 3 years. This is not a Frankfurt model, do some research before you trash someone's "for sale" thread with incorrect information. http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/blaupun..._yorker_2.html

This radio would be correct for your early '66 car, keep in mind this is a "New Yorker" model not a Frankfurt, no "W" model existed for the New Yorker.

    Blaupunkt Radio "Series" by Year.

You can tell when your radio was manufactured by looking at the serial number, which is printed on a paper tag attached to the side of the radio. Blaupunkt serial numbers begin with a letter, and it is this letter which tells you the year of manufacture!

    K 1956/57

    S 1957/58

    G 1958/59

    Q 1959/60

    D 1960/61

    E 1961/62

    T 1962/63

    U 1963/64

    V 1964/65

    W1965/66

    X 1966/67

    Y 1967/68

    Z 1968/69

    A 1969/70

    B 1970/71

    C 1971/72

    D 1972/73

    E 1973/74

    F 1974/75

So, if Michaels car a modelyear '66 is ,he needs a "W" code blaupunkt radio

Stop posting incorrect information on my FS thread. Show me a picture of a "W" coded New Yorker. I am not talking about a Frankfurt or Koln model. If Michael wanted a Blaupunkt New Yorker for his early '66 build from the factory he had to buy a "V" code, what don't you understand? They stamped a bunch of '64 New Yorkers with the "V" code in '64 and didn't sell them all in '64 or '65 because they were very expensive so they lasted until early '66 then then stamped some "X" codes in late '66. Are there any other radio experts out there, doesn't that make sense? Again there are NO "W" coded New Yorker models.
