    Oil spray jets

    Hello,
I would need some technical information about the 911 oil spray jets for piston cooling. There are different models for 911, 930, 964…

Does anybody how much l/min they deliver and at which pressure they open?

I would like to upgrade an early engine case and would like to get further information about the oil spray jets as “retrofit”. Actually the aluminum engine case is prepared with oil by pass, shuffle pins and I’m planning the installation of a 996 Turbo oil pump. I know the oil pump could be too much, but I have on new pump on stock….

The service manual says for 71 911, the spray jets open at aprox 42-56 psi, 3-4 atm. The spray quantity of the six nozzles is aprox 66 gal per hour, 250 liters, at 6000 rpm. The Turbos increased the jet size from 1.0 to 1.5mm. In NA engines we use or replace the jets with the smaller ones, seems like we are fighting too much oil. G. Led

    Hello,
Thanks a lot for your information, it sound interesting. I’m asking, because I would like to do an upgrade in an early crankcase.

I recently found some interesting squirters, They opens above 2 bar (29 psi), delivers 2.5L/min at 3.5bar. I thought, it could work for the 911. The oil pressure is correct, 6 squinters would deliver 15l/min…

    RPM and OIL PRESSURES
    1000 1.5 -2 BAR
    2000 3.0 BAR
    3000 4.0 BAR
    4000 4.5 BAR
