1966 911S - How many left 'out there'

I've been looking through the paperwork of my car (pending a decision in the law suit). It was ordered around August 1966 and picked up from the factory on tourist delivery, on December 17th 1966 for a spin around Italy before being returned to the factory and then being shipped to the States in February 1967. I know that it is classed as a 1967 model year, but it got me to wondering, how many 911S cars were made in 1966 and delivered in 1966 and how many of these early cars remain today.

Attached order form for mine. The car's 'resting' in the garage at the moment, waiting for the next phase in its life to reveal itself.

Zillions in lhd, well, maybe a couple of hundred.
In Rhd, twelve 67S's we're built in 66, only five found their way to the first owner before the end of the year and three are know to exist at this point in time.

I've found an old thread on the bird about the '66 esses here http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...-s-1966-a.html

Also found from 2 different sources, the production numbers for 1967s model years were within total 911 production of 305101s - 308523s.

My 306923s was registered 17 dec '66, I know batches of esses were made in between the regular 911 in '66 so if you assume mine came from the last batch and say batches were 50 cars a batch and mine was half way through the batch that could be plus another 25 cars from mine or last '66 production vin of 306948.

If there were a total of, say 4 batches of 50 made in 1966 that would be 200 cars and say only a third still exist, that could be 67 cars.

    At a guess !
