    Question Sportomatic to 915 conversion

70 E Switching to carburetor engine

I think I know the basic items needed

    Pedal cluster
    Shifter
    trans mount
    obviously clutch and flywheel
    remove vacuum stuff
    clutch cable
    non sporto oil tank

    questions in mind are:

is the shift shaft the same or do I need a 915 shaft?

as far as the clutch cable goes do I need to weld a tube or is it already there?
what else is needed to make the clutch cable happen? bowden tube? what about by the pedals?

    anything else?

    thanks

The clutch tube is usually there but I've seen sporto cars with NO clutch tube. G

pedal cluster cover and carpet piece. (Coupe and Targa are different)
You don't, necessarily need to change the oil tank.

The axles are the same for both transes as long as you use like years. The output flanges can not be interchanged between a 905 sporto and a 915 4 or 5 spd.

axles on the car now have 4 bolts and 2 dowels. Is there a setup like that for 915 flanges?
