I have to convert to CDI……

My mind is made up now, have to put my old kettering ignition on my 67 to sleep…. my car runs great on long trip 3-6000 rpm, but 2 episodes with traffic jam
in Belgien on the way to spa Classic and one today done it. I was stuck in very tuff traffic due to road work, and almost 30 min only run a few meters then stop, …. and then a few meter all on idle 1000 rpm. The plugs dies /totaly black and cannot burn clean. I need more spark

I`m thinking a package from Kurt from partsklassik with the black coil they have made for the cdi? what do you think

Is it difficult to fit ?

I`have seen at tach adapter from sierra madre , any experience with that?

    thanks

Read this on Pelican for instructions: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...electrics.html

Also, there is a Porsche tach intermediate unit (picture below) that will allow your early tach to work with CDI(at least it did in my case). Maybe Jim at EASY has one?

I went down this road when I put a 2.2 in my '66 912. I'm pretty much an idiot when it comes to electronics (and much else, I'm sure). So I had Kroon build a harness that allowed me to attach the entire 1970 engine electrical panel to the '66 harness. Works great. Clean. Wasn't cheap. Required me to finally learn how to use a multimeter--a priceless lesson. Of course, simply installing the CDI will be much easier.
