Danville Porsche 'Wash 'n Shine' Concours - '16.

    From this past weekend.

Eleven years ago, at the same place and time of the year, this was the event in which I debuted my first 911, my current Porsche project. After bringing it home on New Year's Day of '05, detailing it and seeing to a few mechanical issues I wound up taking second place in class......how proud and happy I was.

This year's edition had about a half-dozen 'long hoods', a few impact-bumper cars and 356s tucked away in the most remote corner of the shopping plaza, with the vast majority of the remainder of displayed cars representing the latest, current offerings including SUV's, sedans and "special editions".

In any event, enjoy and thanks for looking - Slate Grey really is one Hell of a color for Porsches of any vintage, isn't it ?

" slavish adherence to originality wasn't for me, because the car wasn't as good as it could be."
