    71 BMW 2002 project

    About 5 years ago we were touring Jay Leno's garage and I spotted this lonely little sunroof 02 in the corner. Apparently the previous owner had an engine fire. I ended up buying it, pulled the motor/trans, completed the paint work, and



    stopped.

    That was 4 years ago. I'll never finish it. Includes orig eng/trans, Recardo's, NOS door panel, and all parts to finish.

    How about $10k?

    Dash is perfect.
    And I don't know much about 2002's but the red tip on that antenna looks pretty important.

    Engine is a long block at the moment. Trans is original and complete. I can't vouch for its internals.

    If this were an EZ reassembly I would do it. It's not. I would consider this car to be what some might call a sympathetic restoration. The cosmetics are pretty nice but I would plan on restoring the mechanicals. Or do a drivetrain swap.
