    Long Term Project 4 Me

    Hello All,

I have always enjoyed it when Registry Members share their projects and now that I finally pulled the trigger on one of my own I thought I would do the same. I bought a 73 coupe that has been used largely on the track for well over a decade. It started life as a '73 CIS T in NV before it made its way to Massachusetts. When delivered it was Light yellow over tan. It is currently light yellow, over black/tan and now has a 2.4L engine w/ MFI built to S specs.

The car was safely transported by Intercity back to LA and has been residing at TLG and John Esposito's for a few weeks now. The goal is to get it back to the street and get it registered in CA. This is not a sympathetic restoration or for that matter any other kind of restoration. I was looking for a car that I could drive, modify, and enjoy on a rinse and repeat cycle for some time and I think I found it.

Here is a list of what's on tap:

    TLG:
The full cage is of the bolt in variety so the front half will be removed. Eventually I would like to replace it with a period correct loop but that will have to come later.
In order to accommodate a man of my carriage the rather narrow racing buckets will be replaced with a set of Recaro buckets that Clyde Boyer was kind enough to sell me last year.
The fuel cell will be replaced with an SC model for greater range, and the electrical will be reattached to make sure that all lights function as they should. Finally, all mechanicals will evaluated and made safe.
The suspension will be adjusted for the street. It's currently very rigid and will shake the teeth out of your head.

    Esposito:
John will replace the front and rear fiberglass bumpers with the original steel that came with the car and replace the fiberglass ducktail and license panel with AL OEM examples.

Once the above is finished I intend to drive the wheels off the car for a year or two before moving onto the next project. I'll update the thread as the car changes over time. Here are some poor photos of the car as it sits today: -Dave

Looks like a fun project. I love the color.

You're in good hands with that team.

    Enjoy!
