    FS: Bosch H4 Headlights - Restored - 1974 version - chrome trim

I had these stuffed away for my '72 Targa that I'm restoring.
In the process of gathering parts I also stumbled onto an original first version H4 without city lights that I will have restored instead for my car, so this set can go.
It's a equally rare set of the second version H4 headlights that were introduced for the modelyear 74, when the indicators did not have the city lights anymore with the impact bumper changes.
From the outside they look like the regular H4 sets that we all know with the city light bulb holder installed in the H4 bulb socket-plate.
The difference with the later Boch and now AL productions however is that the metal shield that goes over the H4 bulb in the mirror is slightly different.
Later versions have a one piece schield that is zinc coated and the earlier models have a two piece shield that is rivited together and is painted black.
On most cars the reflektors have not lasted 40 years, so are in most cases tossed out for a replacement one of later production.
Early production reflektors where light metallic green on the back for the first version and olive flat green or brownish for the second version. (later on they turned to flat grey and metallic brown and now the AL's are even silver)

    - reflektors are stripped and replated backside is painted flat olive green (matched to the original coat I found on them)
    - bulb schields are stripped and recoated with heat resistent powder coat
    - lenses are Bosch script new production
    - rings are new brass chrome plated
    - buckets are stripped and replated (zinc)
    - new rubber seals for lenses and new rubber buschings for reflektors

Thease would be great for a 74 RS or 72/73 car that wants to stay close to the original. (I know, its just a shield .... but some do care about the details)

Asking $899 shipped for this set. (+paypal fees)

It is my understanding that 72/73 H4 don't have the city light so if you want to stay original it wouldn't work for 72/73.
But you learn something everyday so if I'm wrong please educate me.

If you read carfully, that is actually what I'm saying.
But since the first version without city light is even harder to find, this might suit someones needs.
Pictures of what a first version reflektor looks like attached.
