    Turn signal/indicator problem

hi all, RHD 1971 911E, I've nearly completed the restoration and now finding a few gremlins, all lights work fine, hazard lights when switched all work well and the relay sounds clear and ticks its normal noise. Right hands indicator works well and front and rear lights work and light on the dash works so all good, however left side when turned on no lights Front and rear but BOTH lights on the dash light up and the flasher relay sounds laboured and slow. I have traced wires all around the car but my Haynes manual is a little unclear as to the relay power supply. I don't get power at the steering on the left side but I'm dammed if I can solve this problem. Ive removed the relay and cleaned it all over ant it appears to be fine. Removed the indicator arm from the steering column and cleaned all contacts and that looks all good too. Any chance of a wiring diagram showing current flow or power supply to and from the whole circuit will help. Thanks in advance

I recently had a similar problem on my 72T in that my rear left turn signal was not working and the dash indicator would initially blink the left arrow and then after a few seconds, both left and right arrows would start blinking. I tested the rear left bulb and it worked fine when I swapped it with the right side. I checked, cleaned, or replaced everything (fuses, ground connections, flasher relay, turn signal switch) that I could think of but nothing helped. In desperation, I bought new bulbs and replaced all of them and *surprise* everything started working fine.

In case it's not as simple as my solution turned out to be, here are the wiring diagrams for '71 from the workshop manual:
