Color for fuel-tank, 911/65, I need some help!

    Hello
my restoration-project is in progress. So the fueltank needs some new painting.
Does anybody know which color is correct for a early 1965 car?
(probably some light-grey with no undercoating, glossy? like in the added pic?)
    Any suggestions about the RAL-code?

    thank you for every Information!
    Marcel

I'm not sure I've seen its equal. It's fabulous.

Thinking it may be time to come up with a new term for this shaped lump of tar. I'm almost positive the word "sombrero" is a micro aggression.

One source says the color is Glasurit 22 #9169A. And work around the sombrero, if that is your tank. You can't replace it very easily.

Can't replace it at all that I know of. If that were my tank I would not even breathe on it. I would leave it as is and be very proud of it. Like Frank says "it's fabulous"

My tank also has that little line of glue dripped over it near the chassis number. Is that an original feature of all the early cars?

Where did you get that number from?

    I don't believe it's correct.

I got it from a Swedish Porsche website that I can't find now. The pictures suggested it was at least a close match.
