Our beautiful 911 2.2L S was delivered new in France on 28th December 1970 by Sonauto. The comprehensive folder coming with the car allows us to track almost all of its history. Only four owners are known to this date, all of them in France. The current one bought it in 2013 from one of her relatives who owned it since 1984 but who didn't drive it much. She then undertook a series of work in order to give back this 911 its superb of yesteryear. The black faux leather and the carpets were entrusted to the renowned Baron Sellier in 2014. It was restored in bodywork and completely disassembled the same year, treated and painted again in Bahiarot colour. In 2016, it's the mechanical part that will get carefully revised; the engine gets taken down and the electrical part is overhauled. A large amount of new parts were ordered from Porsche for a total exceeding €10,000. Chromes and rims are in good condition too. Overall, this car is today in a very good presentation and working order condition. It will be delivered with both keys, instruction manual, toolkit, original Fuch spare tyre and its jack. It comes with a comprehensive folder full of invoices dating back to 1975, as well as pictures of the restoration. With 180 hp and a contained weight, the 2.2L was manufactured at less than 4,700 units and is great testimonial of the 911, a car that can do everything and at every gear shift. Our French and "matching" example has strong arguments to seduce the brand's most demanding lovers.

That car sold for 89,000 euros hammer. Just two bidders bidding a thousand euros at a time. Pretty dissapointing result.

Not a car market expert, but having followed the auctions in Paris live or online, the bidding was slow, hesitant, and with few exceptions. The press was keen to report record prices etc for the Alfa Romeo 8C etc, but the middle market (below let's say 400,000$) was very sluggish with plenty of chandelier bidding. Too many cars, too many auctions, and market fatigue? one could always argue that the cars weren't the best etc, but here in Europe the Porsche market continues to decline, especially the early cars.
It's a general tendency, and exceptions still exist, but we can drive and enjoy our cars again normally and not worry about its investment potential.
Yikes the Sport Seats went missing between Auctions 1 and 2
I suspect it's just like the yellow car in AZ last month. Shiny, runs, looks good in the catalog - but needs absolutely everything done over properly.
