Anyone with Bill Hirsch gas tank etch and sealer experience?

I am getting ready to go through this process and wanted to see if anyone has used Bill Hirsch products for etching and sealing a tank...successes, failures, etc. . Thank you!

I never used the Bill Hirsch sealer but I had problems with another brand. The ethanol ate into the sealer and I had to clean my Weber jets on a monthly basis.

They claim that the sealer is ethanol safe. You might be ok. I just know that I would never use a sealer again.

Thank you, and your thoughts coincide with my local 'go to' guy who helps me keep my early 911s in order. Since I don't have a leaking tank and there is only the most minor surface rust in several areas inside, I am going to just etch the inside of the tank to remove that and call it a day. I don't even want to think about goop getting through the MFI system even though it would likely be caught at the tank filter sock and or MFI canister filter.

Yes, there were a lot of problems with the older gas tank sealers (Bill Hirsch, POR-15) and ethanol gasoline.

The last couple years I have used ethanol resistant Hirsch products, so far no complaints. Same report from other restorers I know. Be sure to follow directions and MOST IMPORTANT upgrade rubber fuel hoses to Gates Barricade or other E-85 compatible hoses.
