SWB: Orientation of the lock cylinders (ignition and door locks)?

How was the orientation of the locking cylinders (ignition and door locks) of the SWBs (specifically model year 1968)?

    1) Ignition switch with key bit up and door locks with key bit down (see picture)
    2) Ignition switch with key bit down and door locks with key bit down
    3) Ignition switch with key bit up and door locks with key bit up
    4) Ignition switch with key bit down and door locks with key bit down

    Thanks,
    Stefan

we need to stay in touch. i'm doing exactly the same thing. here's what i have found, but please tell me if you found something else.

i dug out every photo of the doors i could, especially from factory material, as well as the Parts Manual. according to those sources, the door key is as shown in your photo. the key, itself, has the long piece pointed upward; the latch on the back end is pointed upward; and the keyhole is at 12 o'clock.

on the ignition switch, since you have a locking steering wheel, isn't there only one direction the assembly can be oriented?

attached are close ups from #113 so the 64 question should be solved.
Some 68 reference pics could be helpful...

    copied from the 356 registry

    Geoff Fleming:
The key should enter the igniton switch with the flat side downward The locking washer goes behind the dash, with the protruding 'ears' entering the two slots on each side of the
hole. The only item on dash face will be the chromed bezel

    Dick Weiss
The key's teeth should be upward and appoximately pointing toward 11 o'clock in the OFF possition, the accessory position to the left, and ignition ON to the right. However, the last switch I reinstalled wound up w/the OFF position @ 12 o'clock as the locking tabs were symetrical.

Thanks to Mike, Haul and Anatol!
The orientations of the SWB locking cylinders are => Ignition switch with key bit up and door locks with key bit down (as shown on the first picture of this thread)!
I also got this picture, which confirms this orientation of the ignition switch for a 68:
