Thanks for looking. The hitch is mounted on a 1967 912.
The manufacturer Oris has tow weight ratings for Porsche on the tag.

The Factory offered them too. I never had one with the hitch still on but I had a C Cab with the trailer wiring plug in still there.

Since I posted this I have tried to find more information about the early Oris Porsche trailor hitch. There is not much out there,is rare to have one sill in place

I have a couple ORIS hitches for Mercedes 113sl. 230sl 250sl 280sl With similar electrical connect, data plate and cast or machined integral ball. Well made pieces! Keith

A very good friend of mine has one on his 61 356 cab. It was a factory accessory for the 356 and also made by Oris. Those old timers will remember seeing it at several CA events and Garys camp out
