Thank you for posting these pictures! I've owned a 911 hitch for 15 years, resisting the temptation to cut it up to modify it for installation on my 356. Good things come to those with patience and I acquired both a 67 911 this year to attach to my hitch AND a 356 hitch to attach to my 356. I am missing some of the pieces on my 911 hitch though and would love to see more pictures of DR911S's stuff here. Is that car in your possession? Please PM me offline, I would like to inquire about some specific dimensions of missing pieces.

I have attached pictures of both my hitches for everyone and I found an Oris exploded view manual of the 911 hitch, which I'm attaching for everyone's benefit. I have the trailer plug socket for the 356 hitch, but need one for the 911, along with a name plate for the 356.

Is your engine lid open for cooler temps while towing in that picture, or was that just a coincidence? It looks like there is something propping it open/holding it down from raising. Curious.

    Dear Scott,
it is indeed for getting the engine cooler as we do have here 38 degrees celsius in southern france.
due to the caravan in the back there is another airflow and the hot air is "stuck" behind the car resulting in higher engine oil and engine temperature.

With the hood fixed open, long rising mountain parts through the alpes are easier to manage.

It should be mentioned that is the standard European type of hitch, quite different from hitches used throughout North America. That type of hitch is still used fairly universally in Europe, even on large tow vehicles.
