    Had no idea

If THIS doesn't prove government regulation is COMPLETELY out of control:

Sounds like the next go around that all need to buy International harvesters. More than one way to skin the kitty

Um, if one actually reads the source it is pretty clear that is not government "regulation" issue. Rather, it is an intellectual property rights (IP) issue.

More specifically, Deere's software is protected by IP law (1998 Digital Millennium Copyright Act) and Deere is acting consistent with that Act to limit access to it's IP (software). Worth noting this is consistent with Deere working to maximize shareholder value...

Are you arguing that people and corporations shouldn't have the right to protect their IP Frank?

    I stand corrected.

Mixed thoughts on the IP protection. This is a battle we currently have with Porsche and ultimately affects the consumer by giving them fewer choices.

Good morning, hope you all are doing OK in the heat. Been a touch hot in Phoenix area with the heat dome recently, our friends in Palm Springs have been sweltering too.

Agree there is a tricky balancing act here, Ferrari owners are dealing with the same issue.
