    CV Joint bolt plate washers

Latest issue in the project is trying to find the right plate washers for the 6 bolts in the CV joints. The PET and Porsche Stoddard call out part # 911 332 191 00 as fitting all 911 from 69-87. But these parts do not line up with the bolt holes on the 915 trans nor, obviously the CV joints. (It looks like they fit the G50). Anyone have a line on where I might find them? Thanks for any help, Mike

911 332 191 00 is a plate which suits a 10mm bolt as used on the early 4 bolt 108mm CV joints used on 69 cars.

These CVs were replaced by a 6 bolt 100mm diameter CV on the SC and I think originally the Gaiter Plate was around 4-5mm thick and then you wouldn't need to use the Moon Washer - I would tend to use a Schnorr Washer with this type of plate.

Replacement Gaiters use a thin pressed Gaiter Plate and these do need a Moon Washer to distribute load evenly and stop the grease from leaking.

If you have 100mm CV joints with 6 x 8mm bolts and the light pressed steel gaiters then the Moon Washers from a VW T25 should fit and are quite common.

The later 108mm 6 bolt CV using 10mm bolts will work with the 911 332 191 00 Moon Washer
