    I suppose the fabric is there to protect the rubber, but somehow rubber 'buried' underneath the fabric always bothers me, esp. with fuel hose. Condition of the rubber is central, so a liner covering it seems counter intuitive.

    From 10 ft away, you can't go wrong with this :
