Any chance you can illuminate me on the difference betwixt IDA versus IDT?

IDA and IDT components/bodies are interchangeable.

IDTP, such as these here, are the later emission version and have leaner progression circuit than IDA, IDAP and IDT.

IDTP provide a leaner mixture as you approach the transition from the progression to the main circuit. This can be modified but it is not a simple parts swap.

If you are having them rebuilt, Performance Oriented can modify the progression to match the original IDA configuration, but it isn't necessary. Also, the main circuit can be made to come in earlier using the right combination of emulsion tubes and air correction jets. They can definitely be made to operate very very well with the amount of tunability built into these carbs.
