No, This one is just late 67 and is not unique to a 67S. It did come on other 67 models. It is very rare and in pretty good shape, though.

    Regards

Still don't know why they made this mirror, maybe the larger size to see better out back on a faster car. Only the 67 911 (only S, or mostly S) got it and 912s did not. Unique chrome brass stock with a plastic mirror that is almost identical to the 68 part but not quite. Still a unique 67 only item.

I have never seen a 67 912 or normal 911 with a black plastic mirror but of course that does not mean they don't exist. I will take Jim's input as credible, wish I has so many 67 targas.

    hmmm
one of my customers has +50 911

all 67S have this mirror-minus the very early 67S that have the normal stem with the extension and the black housing...none of the normal 911 has this one.
and i dont remember having seen a non s with this

not tying to be super smart but my assumption is that porsche wanted to set the S apart from the non S and one of this extras was the black housing.

in the beginning they used the non s stem but the "mercedes"housing did interfere with the stem so they used the extension until the tool for the new stem was built.

    but who knows for sure-
