    Pan American Friendship Rally

We are a group of 16 classics, including 2 911s, from the UK. Our cars have arrived in LA and we will be starting our 7 week adventure through the States in less than 2 weeks.

I hope you find the link interesting and look out for my Light Ivory 911S!

We will be visiting Pikes Peak and were wondering whether this would be an opportunity to 'open up' the cars. Is this advisable from a safety/speeding perspective or would we be in danger of a hefty fine or worse?

Happy to provide further information of our trip if you interested.

    Regards,
    Andy

    Andy...
Tail of the Dragon...Was there this weekend. I'd stay away from this route during the weekends, if at all possible. Saturdays and Sundays (especially in late September and early October) are huge on that road, and so you have TONS of cars and motorcycles...and all of that is heavily patrolled by the local constabulary ! Speed limit on that 11 mile stretch is at 30MPH. So...if you want to have 'fun' on that stretch, pick a weekday...early in the morning.
    Just sayin'...
    Safe travels!

Thanks Vic. Whilst we will be travelling on a Wednesday (from Santa Fe to Colorado Springs so an early am run is unlikely), I think the bottom line is 'proceed with caution'! Andy

What fun! We'll be out in the Indian Wells area about the same time in a couple of our classics, maybe we'll see your group.
